But we make deliberate choices wherever we can: a solar panel at markets, rechargeable batteries instead of a generator, compostable and recyclable materials when they exist. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle program is how we close the loop on packaging. Bring your own cup. Bring back your pouch. We'll take care of the rest.

Single-use packaging is a problem. Reusable anything helps.
Most packaging ends up in a landfill after one use. Tea packaging is no exception. We're trying to change that for our piece of it: refillable pouches, cups you keep coming back with, and a program that rewards you for doing so.
This isn't a greenwashing campaign. It's us trying to put less in the trash. You bring it back; we refill it and take something off the price.

The packaging you bought your tea in? We'll refill it. An original Moody pouch, a bag, a tin: bring it back to any market location and we'll apply a discount to your refill.
Bring your own cup: $0.50 off your drink.
We serve ready-to-drink tea at all our market locations. Show up with a reusable cup and we'll take $0.50 off. We fill up to 20 oz for iced drinks and 12 oz for hot tea.
Come back for another round same visit: $0.25 off the refill.
Already got a drink from us today? A same-visit refill on that cup gets you $0.25 off the next one.
Bring back your original packaging: discount on your loose leaf refill.
Still have the pouch or bag your tea came in? Bring it back and we'll refill it. The discount applies to the weight of tea used to fill it: got a 2 oz pouch, get a discount on 2 oz of tea.
We have tins available at select locations and are working on expanding access. When you do get one, the same refill program applies.
How the refill works

Pick a tea to refill with. Same blend or something new, your choice.

We'll figure out the fill amount together and apply the discount to your refill price. More than one container? The discount applies to each one.

The refill program is the part you see. Here's some of what's happening behind it.
Solar-powered at every market
We run our register off a solar panel at every farmers market. No generator, no gas.
Rechargeable over disposable
From the small batteries in our scales and timers to the large ones powering our kettles, we recharge instead of replacing. No gas generator needed.
Compostable and recyclable first
When compostable or recyclable packaging options exist, we use them. We keep looking for what's next.
Refillable by design
Our pouches and bags are meant to come back. The discount is the incentive. Closing the loop is the point.

Can I combine the cup discount with other offers?
Yes. The cup discount stacks with most other discounts we offer. Bring your cup, bring your coupons, we'll apply everything.
What counts as reusable packaging for the refill discount?
Anything you originally bought your tea in from us: pouches, bags, tins. If you're bringing something back to refill instead of throwing it away, that's exactly what we're going for.
What size cup can I bring for the drink discount?
Any reusable cup. We fill up to 20 oz for iced drinks and 12 oz for hot tea. Want more? A same-visit refill gets you $0.25 off the next one.
Can I mail in my packaging for a refill?
Yes. Email us at [email protected] and we'll work it out. More back-and-forth than a market drop-off, but we'll make it work.
