The Minty Refresher – a tisane cocktail featuring Minty Fresh!

We love tea, and we drink it all the time, so naturally we’ve come up with a few tricks to combine the tea we love with a little kick. In the warm weather, we’ve all enjoyed a wine spritzer, and they’re a perfect way to incorporate Moody Teas into a delicious, light cocktail. Not to mention, they’re super easy!

Ingredients:

  • 6 teaspoons of Minty Fresh
  • 1 cup water
  • Sweetener (to taste)
  • Sparkling white wine
  • Optional: mint, any fruit you’d like (we recommend berries, peaches, or watermelon!)

Step 1: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil, and add to a pitcher with the herbal blend – don’t forget to put it in a tea bag or ball! Let steep for 5 minutes. If you’re using sweetener, you can add it now.

Step 2: Pull the tisane out, add a cup of ice cubes, and let chill in the fridge.

Step 3: When ready to serve, add whatever you’d like! Fresh cut fruit, mint, etc.

Pour your tisane into a glass, top with sparkling wine, and get ready for the ultimate Minty refresh!

Hints:

  • If you have time, make your own simple syrup – it’s a great way to layer in additional favors.
  • If you choose to add fresh ingredients, muddle them in the pitcher to release more flavor.
  • Lime and fresh mint make a great mojito version!
  • Ginger and mint make a fun faux mule!

Nora is a co-founder of Moody Teas. She runs brand, marketing, and creative direction. She's queer. Tea started with her mom: English breakfast, most days, growing up. She never got formal tea training — it barely exists as a credential anyway. Before Moody Teas, she went through art school, then a decade in food service. She started behind the counter, moved into managing quick-service locations, then consulted on new restaurant openings. She and John started Moody Teas in 2019. She's disabled and neurodivergent, and lives with chronic illness. That shapes how Moody Teas approaches accessibility. Spot her at the market stand by whatever color her hair is that month.
