John's Big Black Chai is our take on a traditional chai, inspired and blended by our cofounder John while they were on the search for the ultimate chai latte. This bold tea brews a great morning cup to awaken the mind and boost the senses. Like many chai blends, this tea is great on its own but was formulated specifically to make a great chai latte. This blend really shines with the addition of your favorite sweetener and milk or alternative.

THE TEA

John’s Big Black Chai is our take on a traditional chai, inspired and blended by our cofounder John while they were on the search for the ultimate chai latte. This blend features our favorite black teaKumaon black, a rare black tea similar to an assam, but with more floral notes.


AROMA AND TASTE

Warm chai blend. Kumaon black tea is a deep, fragrant black tea with floral notes and a vegetal finish, layered with the traditional flavors of chai (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, allspice). 


BREW TIME, COLOR, AND TEMP

John’s Big Black Chai brews to a deep, sepia color. The tea should brew for no longer than 4-5 minutes at 200-210 degrees.
