You’ve heard of Rooibos “tea” but do you really know what it is? It is not considered tea, since it doesn’t come from the Camellia Sinensis plant. We’ve gathered all the best facts, tips and tricks you should know about Rooibos, and today we’re going to share a few!

The common pronunciation of rooibos is ROY-BOSS, but when said quickly, it sounds like ROY-BUS. This drink is packed with antioxidants, which may help protect your cells from damage. Rooibos has many other  health benefits including potentially reducing cholesterol levels.

More Health Benefits of Rooibos

  • It does not have a stimulatory effect of caffeine heavy teas
  • Suggested to be heart-friendly and have beneficial effects on blood pressure. The high flavonol content also supports the cardiovascular system because it’s anti-inflammatory.
  • May benefit people with type 2 diabetes since it may help protect against the oxidative damage associated with diabetes. Again, the many antioxidants could help to balance blood sugar levels and reduce insulin resistance.
