Herbal Tisanes

Learn about Herbal Tisanes!

Moody Teas offers a wide range of herbal blends to suit any mood. Though technically not teas because they do not include leaves from the camellia sinensis plant, herbal blends are called tisanes, water based infusions of herbs, spices or other plants, and can be made with a vast array of ingredients! Common herbal blends include mint, chamomile (often for sleep), or ginger (sometimes said to cure stomach aches); many herbal blends are said to ease common ailments. At Moody Teas, we’ve curated our herbal blends to enhance the moods we love, without the caffeine or taste of traditional teas.

Herbal blends have a variety of flavors, and are caffeine free.  Herbals can be steeped at high temperatures, anywhere from 210-212 degrees (f) for as long as you’d like – because they don’t contain tea, they don’t have the tannins that makes tea bitter when steeped too long. We recommend starting at 3-4 minutes and adjusting to your taste. Use about 1-2 teaspoons of herbal blend per 8 ounces of hot water, double for iced or cold brews.
