Moody Teas

Lapsang Souchong

A distinct black tea from Fujian Province in China, Lapsang Souchong is smoked over pinewood, giving it a bold, smoky flavor. This tea is dark, intense, and sometimes described as tasting “campfire-like.” While divisive, it’s beloved by fans of bold flavors and is popular in tea blends and culinary applications.

Nora is a co-founder of Moody Teas. She runs brand, marketing, and creative direction. She's queer. Tea started with her mom: English breakfast, most days, growing up. She never got formal tea training — it barely exists as a credential anyway. Before Moody Teas, she went through art school, then a decade in food service. She started behind the counter, moved into managing quick-service locations, then consulted on new restaurant openings. She and John started Moody Teas in 2019. She's disabled and neurodivergent, and lives with chronic illness. That shapes how Moody Teas approaches accessibility. Spot her at the market stand by whatever color her hair is that month.
