This year, we’re giving a holiday classic a full Moody Teas glow-up. Our Transcendence Coquito keeps all the creamy, coconut-rich nostalgia of the original, but layers in the grounding warmth of rooibos, the uplifting clarity of mint, and the dreamy icy-blue hue of butterfly pea flower. Whether you’re mixing the zero-proof version or the rum-infused edition, this coquito is comforting, intentional, and a little bit magical — a tradition that knows how to transcend.

A creamy holiday classic infused with botanical glow and a little Moody magic.

If the holidays had a signature vibe, it would be this: creamy, comforting, a little extra, and absolutely ready to shimmer in the spotlight. This Transcendence Coquito takes the beloved Puerto Rican classic and gives it a Moody Teas glow-up — keeping all the nostalgic coconut richness while weaving in the soothing herbs, cool mint lift, and dreamy moody-blue hue of our Transcendence blend.

Whether you’re serving a zero-proof mocktail moment or mixing up a more traditional batch with infused rum, this recipe is here to bring intention, comfort, and a whole lot of joy to your season.

🥥 Icy Blue Coquito, Zero-Proof Edition

Creamy, botanical, alcohol-free — and powered entirely by Transcendence.

This take leans fully into the tea, using a concentrated steep of Transcendence to replace the rum. It’s lush, silky, and naturally icy blue, with layered warmth from rooibos and vanilla and a gentle lift from spearmint.

💜 Tea Concentrate

  • 2 tablespoons Transcendence
  • 1 cup hot water (210°F)
Steep 7 minutes, strain, and cool completely.

Zero-Proof Coquito Base

  • 1 can (13.5 oz) full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk (or oat milk for dairy-free)

  • 1/2 cup extra cooled Transcendence tea concentrate (replaces rum)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • (Optional: 1 tbsp coconut cream for added richness)

How to Make the Zero-Proof Edition

  1. Blend: Combine tea concentrate and all ingredients, then blend until silky.
  2. Chill: Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Serve: Shake well, pour over ice, garnish with cinnamon or nutmeg.

Classic Coquito with Transcendence-Infused Rum

A more traditional coquito — botanical, vibrant, and absolutely delicious.

Instead of adding tea concentrate, this version infuses the rum itself with Transcendence. The result is a deep, aromatic, brilliantly blue rum that blends seamlessly into the classic recipe.

💜 How to Make Transcendence-Infused Rum

  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1 tablespoon Transcendence

Combine and steep for 12–24 hours, then strain.
(Longer infusion = deeper color and richer rooibos notes.)

Classic Coquito Base (Rum Version)

  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1/2 can (7 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  2. Chill: Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight for best flavor.
  3. Serve: Shake, pour over ice, and finish with a cinnamon stick.

Bonus Twists: Color-Changing Magic (Texture-Friendly!)

Want that iconic blue → lavender-pink transformation without affecting the coquito’s silky texture? Here are three gorgeous options:

1. Citric Acid Sugar Rim

Mix:

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp citric acid

Wet the glass rim with water or coconut milk, dip in the mixture, and pour in your icy-blue coquito.
The edges shift to lavender instantly — stunning.

2. Citric Acid Mist

A glass of icy-blue coquito with a lavender swirl on the surface, sprinkled with cinnamon and garnished with a single cinnamon stick. The background is a soft, cool-toned marble texture.

Mix:

  • 1/8 tsp citric acid
  • 1 tbsp water

Add to a small spray bottle/atomizer and mist gently over the poured drink for soft lavender swirls on the surface.

3. Keep It Moody Blue

The natural hue alone is magical — rich, dreamy, and unmistakably Transcendence.
Add edible glitter for a celestial winter vibe.

A Moody Teas Glow-Up on a Holiday Classic

Coquito is already iconic — we’re not here to replace tradition, just to give it a little elevation. Think of this as your coquito’s annual upgrade: the same cozy, coconut-rich sweetness you love, but infused with the grounding warmth of rooibos, the uplifting clarity of spearmint, and the moody, botanical blue of butterfly pea flower.

It’s familiar, but evolved.
Comforting, but brighter.
A little more intentional, a little more wellness-forward, and absolutely full of joy.

By weaving Transcendence into the mix — whether through a silky tea concentrate or a deeply infused rum — this coquito becomes a ritual in itself: soothing, energizing, mood-supporting, and visually magical. A tradition that knows how to transform, and a classic that knows how to transcend.
