Moody Teas

Tea Type Guide
Tea Type Guide

Six teas. Only half share one plant.

Black, green, and white tea all come from Camellia sinensis, the same plant handled three different ways after picking. Chai builds spice on a black tea or rooibos base, so it only sometimes starts there. Herbal and our Alternatives collection skip the plant entirely, herbal for flowers, fruit, and roots, Alternatives for two naturally caffeinated hollies. This guide walks through all six: what’s actually in your cup and how to steep it right.

Pick a plant, or skip it entirely.

Black, green, and white tea come from the exact same plant, just handled differently after picking. Chai builds warming spice on top of a black tea or rooibos base. Herbal skips the tea plant for flowers, fruit, and roots. And our Alternatives run on two naturally caffeinated hollies that aren’t tea at all. Same ritual, several very different plants.

Black tea

Black

Fully oxidized and built to last. Bold and malty, structured enough to take milk or stand on its own.
